Why We Stopped Listing Hoodie Lengths — and What You Should Know Instead
Why We Stopped Listing Hoodie Lengths — and What You Should Know Instead
When you're tall — or just have a longer torso — finding clothes that actually fit (and flatter!) can feel like a total guessing game.
One of the questions we get often here at 7degrees is:
"If you design for tall women, why don’t you list the garment lengths?"
I wanted to take a moment to share the why behind that — because it’s not about being vague, it’s actually about helping you find something that truly works for your body.
Why We Don’t Use Length Measurements Anymore
We used to include all the measurements — body length, sleeve length, But over time, we realized something important: those numbers weren’t as helpful as we thought.
Most people (understandably!) don’t measure garments the same way brands do. A flat-lay measurement doesn’t always reflect how something feels or fits on a real body — especially when you’re comparing styles with totally different shapes and fits.
For example, our Misty Fullzip hoodie (and all 7 degrees hoodies) in this picture is made with tall bodies in mind, but it’s not oversized or boxy. It’s actually shaped to follow your curves — with more room in the torso and extra sleeve length, without adding being oversized and boxy. When you compare it side-by-side with another tall branded hoodie (in this case an American Tall hoodie) in the same size, they might look similar on the floor, but they fit very differently in real life.
The Proof Is in the Picture 📸
Take a look at this side-by-side comparison.
This is my friend Wendy — she’s 5'10" and wearing two size Medium full-zip hoodies. On the left is our Misty Fullzip, and on the right is a full-zip from American Tall (Not their X-Tall). They might look the same when laid flat, but you can clearly see them once put on
✨ Our sleeves are almost 1.5” longer (plus thumbholes!)
✨Our shape hugs her waist and sits over the hips vrs the boxy and pooling at the waist
✨ It gives full coverage without being oversized - in full stretch
Measurements alone wouldn’t tell you that. But a visual? That tells the full story.
It’s Not Just About Height
One more thing: not everyone who shops with are “tall”
We’ve found that many of our customers have longer torsos rather than long legs — which makes shopping even harder, because most tops just aren’t built to cover that length properly. That’s one of the biggest gaps we’re here to fill.
Whether you’re 5'5" or 6'1" with a long torso, we’ve designed our pieces to give you that comfortable, flattering fit — no constant tugging or adjusting required.
Real Fit. Real Women. Real Visuals.
Instead of focusing on charts and numbers, we’re choosing to show you how our pieces look on real women — in real bodies, just like yours. Because in the end, how you feel in your clothes matters way more than a measuring tape.
Why are you looking? Also read our reviews, you will find many that list their heights and compliment the length! We are really designed differently!
